The Department of Biochemistry organised a World Organ Donation Day Awareness Programme



 today in the presence of our Principal Dr. M. Pitchaimani and Senior Vice Principal & Director of Life Sciences Dr. G. Jothi, with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of organ donation and encouraging the community to contribute towards saving lives.
The programme was graced by Dr. V. Rajesh Kanna, Member, Vice Chancellor Committee and Professor of Microbiology, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. V. Rajesh Kanna highlighted the significance of organ donation and explained the regulations and ethical aspects associated with organ donation. His insightful address motivated the students and faculty to understand the value of becoming organ donors.

The programme commenced with the Welcome Address by Mrs. M. Deepa, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. M. Pitchaimani, Principal, who emphasised the importance of organ donation, encouraging everyone to understand its life-saving value and come forward to support the noble cause

As part of the awareness activities, a Signing Campaign was organised to encourage participants to express their commitment towards organ donation. Students and faculty members also took a pledge to support and promote organ donation, reaffirming their commitment to the noble cause of saving lives.

Various technical and creative events, including Fireless Cooking and Rangoli, were conducted as part of the programme, providing students with an opportunity to participate in the awareness initiative actively.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. B. Vaitheeswari, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, the Senior Vice Principal, the faculty members, the students, and all who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme served as a meaningful platform to spread awareness about organ donation and inspire students and faculty to become ambassadors of this life-saving cause.
 
On this occasion, we extend our sincere gratitude to the Secretary and Correspondent, and the Principal for their valuable guidance and continuous support. We also express our heartfelt thanks to the Senior Vice Principal, the Vice Principals, and the Dean of Life Sciences for their unwavering support.
