As per the request made by the Joint Commissioner of Srirangam Ranganathar Swami Temple, Srirangam, Under the guidance of the College Secretary and Correspondent, and with the support of the Principal, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of our College organised a cleaning and maintenance activity at the historically significant Thousand-Pillared Hall of Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, on 11 August 2026 as part of its community service initiative.
A total of 65 NSS student volunteers participated in the initial phase of the activity, assisting in the systematic clearance and relocation of materials to designated areas, followed by the cleaning and maintenance of the hall and its surrounding premises.
The activity was planned to continue from 11 to 18 August 2026 in three phases, with 60 volunteers assigned to each team, involving three teams from three batches over the scheduled period. The initiative was undertaken with the objectives of promoting cleanliness, heritage conservation, civic responsibility, teamwork and discipline among students. The enthusiastic participation of the NSS volunteers demonstrated their commitment to community engagement, social responsibility and the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the region.
