The Women Development Cell organized a Health Awareness Programme on *“Nourishing Life Naturally: The Best Start for Every Baby”* in observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026.
The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. R. Malini, Co-ordinator of the Women Development Cell. The Felicitation Address delivered by Dr. K. Subha, Dean of Commerce and Management.
The Special Address was delivered by Dr. Ramya Devi, M.D., Pediatrician, Member of the Indian Association of Pediatrician, Government Hospital, Perambalur. She emphasized the significance of exclusive breastfeeding, maternal care, and holistic child health. Through her insightful presentation, she shared practical guidance, scientific perspectives, and effective support strategies that promote the well-being of both mother and child, while highlighting the crucial role of families and communities in fostering a healthy environment.
The programme created awareness among 75 girl students regarding the importance of maternal and child health and encouraged them to understand the long-term benefits of breastfeeding and healthy parenting practices.
