The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Srimad Andavan Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, organized an awareness programme titled "Real Life Safety Simulator: Empowering Young Women for a Safer Tomorrow" on 31st July 2026 at 10:45 a.m. in Sri Paduka Arangam.
The programme aimed to create awareness among young women about personal safety, Self-Protection, Cyber safety and the role of youth in building a safe and respectful society.
The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by myself Dr. M. Usharani, Chairperson of ICC who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students.
The gathering was presided over by Dr. M. Pitchaimani, Principal, who delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the institution's commitment to women's safety and holistic development.
The Special Address was delivered by
Mr. Seetharaman, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Srirangam, who spoke about personal safety, legal awareness and the importance of being alert and responsible citizens.
The Keynote Address was delivered by
Ms. Geetha, Inspector of Police, Singappen Force, Trichy, who shared practical guidance on Self-defence, cybercrime prevention, emergency response and safety measures for young women.
The programme was highly interactive, with students actively participating by asking questions and clarifying their doubts. The session inspired students to become more aware, confident and responsible in ensuring their own safety and supporting others.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by
Ms. V. Amirthavalli, Assistant Professor, Department of English, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Management, Secretary, Principal Vice Principals Deans, HoDs and faculty members who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
