80th Independence Day Celebrations


*80th Independence Day Greetings to all!* 🇮🇳

The Nation First Club and the Kalapradharshini Cultural Wing, jointly organised the 80th Independence Day Celebrations with patriotic fervour and nationalistic spirit at the college premises and auditorium. 
The programme commenced with the welcome address delivered by Mr. Deepak, Head and Assistant Professor of Management, who extended a warm welcome. *Major Dr. Manali Somasundaram, Former Head, Department of Tamil, Bishop Heber College,Trichy* graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, hoisted the national flag and received the Guard of Honor by the NCC Cadets. He delivered an inspiring patriotic address, highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the collective responsibility of younger generation.
The Investiture Ceremony successfully was taken place, and badges were distributed to the newly appointed office-bearers of the Student Council, Nation First Club, and Kalapradharshini. 

Ms. Sadhana of I M.Sc. Computer Science delivered a thought-provoking student patriotic speech about responsibilities of contemporary youth. The formal inaugural session concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. M. Subhashini, Head, Department of BCA and Data Science.

As a gesture of appreciation and fellowship, our respected Secretary hosted a sumptuous breakfast for all faculty members, non-teaching staff, school teachers, and students.

As a part of the celebration, A Independence Day Special Debate organised on the topic  “ *The Role of Gen Z in Nation Building vis-à-vis Realising their Rights and Duties.”* The debate, conceptualised as the brainchild of the beloved Secretary. 

The Rights side was represented by Dr. G. V. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor of Microbiology; Ms. B. Aishwarya, Assistant Professor of Management; Mr. Arvind Srivatsan of II B.Sc. Microbiology; and Ms. K. Gayathri of III BBA.

The Duties side was represented by Dr. A. Ananthan, Head, Department of Chemistry; Ms. G. Saranya, Assistant Professor of Tamil; Mr. K. Madhan of II M.A. Tamil; and Ms. Sadhana of I M.Sc. Computer Science.

Major Dr. Manali Somasundaram, the Chief Guest, served as the Judge of the Debate. The participating speakers were subsequently honoured by the Chief Guest and the Principal in recognition of their valuable contribution to the event.

The intellectual deliberations were followed by a spectacular array of cultural performances presented by the students of Kalapradharshini. The performances celebrated India’s rich cultural plurality. The programme featured an eclectic blend of Classical, Semi-Classical, Western, Patriotic, and Variety performances.

The entire celebration was made possible through the collective efforts and unwavering support of the Management, Secretary and Correspondent, Advisor, Principal, Senior Vice Principal, Vice Principals, Deans, Heads of Departments, The Principal of Sree Vaijayanthee Vidhyalaya, NCC Flying Officer, NSS Programme Officers, Kalapradharshini Cultural Team, faculty members, SVV school teachers, Visual Communication Department, non-teaching staff, IMF Team, and supporting staff.
