One-Day National Level Workshop on Crafting Careers: Content Writing and Future-Ready Skills in the Cyber Age
The Department of English organized a One-Day National Level Workshop on *Crafting Careers: Content Writing and Future-Ready Skills in the Cyber Age* today (23/02/2026).
The programme commenced with a prayer and the ceremonial lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. The gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. M. Jayachandran, Associate Professor & Head, Department of English. The respected Principal, Dr. M. Pitchaimani, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Senior Vice Principal, Dr. G. Jothi, who underscored the growing significance of employability and industry-relevant skills in today’s competitive landscape. The Dean of Arts, Dr. S. Lakshmi, felicitated the gathering and conveyed her best wishes for the success of the programme. The resource persons were honoured with mementos as a token of appreciation.
Dr. R. Karthick Babu, Associate Professor of English & Soft Skills Trainer, HRDC, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Trichy, and Dr. L. Santhosh Kumar, Assistant Professor of English, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, Karnataka, were the resource persons. Dr. R. Karthick Babu, in his inaugural address, emphasized the necessity of equipping students with future-ready competencies. The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. R. Elakkiya, Assistant Professor of English.
Session I was conducted by Dr. R. Karthick Babu on the topic *“Mastering Future Skills: A Hands-On Career Readiness Practicum.”* The session provided intensive practical training in rΓ©sumΓ© writing, interview strategies, and professional communication. The interactive activities and experiential learning components significantly enhanced the participants’ confidence and industry awareness.
Dr. L. Santhosh Kumar, in Session II, delivered an insightful session on *“Content Writing and Digital Career Skills,”* highlighting emerging digital platforms, freelancing opportunities, and pathways for building a sustainable professional writing career.
During the valedictory session, certificates were distributed to participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and UG and PG students from various disciplines and institutions. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. K. Manjuladevi.
At this juncture, we gratefully acknowledge the unwavering support and encouragement extended by the Management, the Secretary and Correspondent, the Advisor, the Principal, the Senior Vice Principal, the Vice Principals, and the Dean of Arts in all our academic endeavours.
