Pongal Vizha Celebration on 13 January 2026 at 10.30 a.m. in our college premises

*Greetings from Kalapradharshini Cultural Wing!*

Kalapradharshini Cultural Wing successfully organized the *Pongal Vizha Celebration on 13 January 2026 at 10.30 a.m. in our college premises*, celebrating the rich heritage and timeless traditions of Tamil culture with great enthusiasm and active student participation.

Pongal, the harvest festival, signifies gratitude to nature, farmers, cattle, and the Sun God for abundance and prosperity. Through this celebration, students were provided an opportunity to reconnect with their cultural roots and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving traditional practices.

In the gracious presence of the Principal, Senior Vice-Principal, Vice-Principals, and other dignitaries, the event commenced with the traditional Pongal Pooja and Pannai Etral, marking an auspicious beginning. As part of the celebration, Sweet Pongal and Ven Pongal were ceremoniously prepared and offered by the Cultural Wing team, symbolizing prosperity, unity, and cultural pride.

Adding to the traditional significance, Pongal was celebrated in the presence of the traditional Maadu (cow), symbolizing Tamil  heritage and reverence for cattle.

To encourage creativity and promote traditional art forms, Rangoli (Kolam) Competitions were organized, where students showcased their artistic skills through vibrant designs reflecting Pongal themes. Prizes were distributed to the winners, fostering enthusiasm and appreciation for indigenous art.

In association with the Playmakers – Sports Wing, a variety of traditional games and events such as Uriyadi Panai, Silambattam, and other indigenous sports activities were conducted. Students participated actively with great enthusiasm, making the celebration lively, joyful, and memorable.

The entire event stood as a harmonious blend of culture, tradition, sportsmanship, and student engagement, reinforcing the spirit of Tamil heritage among the younger generation.

🙏 We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Management, Respected Secretary & Correspondent, Advisor, Principal, Senior Vice-Principal, Vice-Principals, Deans, HODs, Playmakers – Sports Wing, Faculty Members, Core Cultural Team, Office Staff, and all other supporting staff for their constant encouragement and invaluable support in organizing such meaningful events that promote and preserve our cultural heritage.
