World Disability Day

In commemoration of World Disability Day, the Department social work in association with The Banyan organisation jointly organised a Two days’ workshop on "Disability peer leaders"-

 building strength through shared journeys the workshop focused on leadership skills, disability rights, self-confidence, communication and role of volunteers in the community. The session was handled by Dr. Gopalakrishnan, psychiatrist Sowmanasya hospital, Mr V Mohanraj, State president, December 3 movement, Mr Sakthivel Pillai, project manager,  Nallam project, Mrs Lily and miss Neha, Nalam project staff acted as a resource person. More than 30 Differently able volunteers from Lalgudi block and pullambadi block were benefited from this workshop. In valedictory function Dr. M. Pitchaimani, principal, Vice principal, Dean of Arts, physical Director were distributed the seminar kit to the participants. At this juncture I would like to thank our Secretary, Advisor, Sr. Vice Principal, Vice Principals, Deans for their encouragement and support and special thank to Transport Manager, IMF staff for their timely help.
