The Nation First Club of our college celebrated the 144th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Bharathiyar. Dr. Major S. Manali Somasundaram, Former Head, Department of Tamil, Bishop Heber College, Trichy was the chief guest. He delivered a special address to the students on Bharathiyar’s personality and greatness, highlighting principles such as moral development, intellectual growth, and personality development. Our respected Secretary and Correspondent delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the positive impact of Bharathiyar’s writings on our nation's Freedom Struggle Movement, quoting several of his poems. He proudly reflected on the sacrifices made by great personalities for the nation’s independence. Our beloved Principal offered felicitations.The students delivered passionate speeches.
Earlier, Dr. Jayachandran, Head, Department of English and Coordinator NFC welcomed the gathering, while Dr. J. Sivaraman, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and NFC Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions held in celebration of Bharathi Jayanti. Sr. Vice-principal, Vice-Principals, Deans, HODs, faculty friends and students took part in the event.
At this juncture, we thank the Management, Secretary and Correspondent, and the Principal for their constant support. We also thank the Dean of Arts for providing the venue at Hayagreeva Pusthakaalaya. Gratitude is extended to the IMF team and the Transport Manager for their timely support.
