The Women Development Cell (WDC) of Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College (Autonomous), in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, organized the Inauguration ceremony and Health Awareness Programme on “Strong Mothers, Healthy Babies” at Sri Varaha Mahadesikan Hall.
The session commenced with a Welcome Address, the Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. M. Pitchaimani, Principal who emphasized the importance of women’s health and empowerment, followed by felicitation given by Dr. G. Jothi, Director – Life Sciences & Senior Vice-Principal – Academics. In this event WDC introduced the Office Bearers and honoured them with badges.
The Special Address was delivered by Dr. R. Ramyadevi, MD, DCH, Pediatrician, GH, Head Quarters Hospital, Perambalur. She stressed the significance of exclusive breastfeeding, maternal care, and child health. She also shared practical advice, scientific insights, and support strategies essential for family and community health.
The event created awareness among girl students on maternal and child health. All participants were highly benefited.
