Department of English organised the Word Wizard competition


Pegasus Literary Association of The Department of English organised the Word Wizard competition exclusively for the II UG students today (12/08/2025). The event aimed to enhance and assess the students’ vocabulary skills through a series of engaging and challenging rounds.
The programme commenced with the arrival of our beloved Secretary and Correspondent *CA. R. Venkatesh,* who addressed the gathering and extended his best wishes to the participants. Dr. R. Lakshmi, in her felicitation address, encouraged the participants to actively engage in vocabulary building. Dr. R. Krishnan briefed the audience on the regular activities and initiatives of the Department of English, highlighting its commitment to linguistic and literary development among students.
The competition comprised various levels of vocabulary-based tests, designed to challenge the linguistic competence, quick thinking, and word application skills of the contestants.  62 Students from various departments actively participated. 
*Mr. Akshay Krishnan Malolan and Ms. Vishalini of II BBA B emerged as the Word Wizard of the Year.*
*Ms.Durga Shree and Ms. Kaviya of II B.Com A secured the runner-up position.*
The event proved to be both educational and entertaining, offering participants an opportunity to sharpen their vocabulary and communication skills.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Management, Secretary and Correspondent, Advisor, Principal, Vice Principals, Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members for their unwavering support and encouragement.
