The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College, in collaboration with EMRI Green Health Services, Hyderabad, and the Tamil Nadu Health System Project, organized the Accident First Responder Training Programme on 29 August 2025 at Paduka Arangam.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. M. Pitchaimani, Principal of the College, in the presence of Dr. Arutselvam, Chief Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Srirangam. The training sessions were meticulously conducted by Ms. M. Hepsy Buela and Mr. E. Shankar, professional instructors from the 108 Emergency Medical Services team.
The workshop provided comprehensive and hands-on training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), medical emergencies, trauma care, and environmental emergencies. Specific emphasis was laid on life-saving interventions in cases of choking, burns, bleeding control, chest pain, stroke, respiratory distress, and snakebites.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of auto-rickshaw drivers, local shopkeepers, school Physical Education teachers, faculty members from neighboring institutions, members of the general public, and NSS volunteers of the college, numbering around 100 participants in total. The session was highly interactive, combining theoretical inputs with practical demonstrations, thereby enabling the participants to acquire essential first responder competencies that are crucial in safeguarding lives during critical emergencies.
The participants expressed that the training was extremely beneficial and socially impactful, equipping them with both knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in real-life emergency situations.
We extend our profound gratitude to our Management, Secretary and Correspondent, Advisor, Principal, Sr. Vice-Principal, Vice Principals, Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Sincerely,
NSS Programme Officers,
